Foundations from the 13th century

The Collegiate Church of Santa Maria della Stella was built with municipal subventitions granted to the Dominican Convent, which was located here since May 9th 1287 San Domenico complex was endowed with a church with three aisles and, in 1584, 19 altars. Originally the Dominican church consecrated on May 8th 1377 faced the Castle Around mid 17th century following the enlargement of the building site its layout was modified as it is today visible The bell tower is what remains of the original layout. Because of the short number of the religious, in 1797 the Dominican Convent was closed. In the 1799 the King donated the church to the Rivoli City Council, which transferred there the Collegiate Church, formerly hosted in a dacaying building.
