Old palace from 1788

Piozzo di Rosignano Palace was presumably commissioned by the notary Canova, chancellor of the Gran Priorato of the religion of Malta, and erected in 1788 by the architect Quartini. It was built on the ruins of a pre- existing construction of the 18th century, and sold to the lawyer Bertalazone on August 31st 1828. In 1837 it became property of the lawyer Galletti, then, in December 1846, it passed to the Earl Alessandro di Saluzzo di Monesiglio, who commissioned Blachier to do the private chapel though at the disadvantage of the original theatre Subsequently, the Marquise of Cortanze inherited it from the Saluzzos and later sold it to the Basadonna family (1854), The Basadonna sold it to the Earl Leopoldo Gay di Quarti (1859), whom, in turn, sold it to the Earl Cesare Pios di Rosignano, whose family, eventually sold it to the City Council of Rivoli (1979) Since mid-19th century, the rustic house at the bottom of the garden belongs to the City Council of Rivoli.
